I am re-posting "The Invitation" in a *.pdf format because the Scribed file doesn't show up on phones and a friend asked for it. In this post, I want to write a little bit about culture and writing.

I am back on! I have a writing schedule going again, or a draft of one. I am starting to get up early at 5:30a.m. to write for 30 minutes minimum and plan on writing in the evenings after I work out. Yes, I did say work out. I am keeping this blog short because I am going on a morning walk and have to think through some more ideas about a presentation I have to do later on during lunch. As you can see, I am on a health kick, which I hope sticks. It helps with the writing. Enough of that. Later on today, I am doing a reading for a YA creative writing group, and I decided after much deliberation to read "The Invitation", which is a YA story for all intents and purposes. It is slightly autobiographical, and yes, I was hit with a volleyball during PE by two of my Native American friends. On accident, I am sure. I am including it below and would love some feedback because I am not going to read the whole thing, I don't think. Well, here's to getting back into the writing groove. #Resist! |
